Training & Videos

What if an employee fails the quiz?

There is no pass or fail on the quiz. The safety quiz is not an OSHA requirement — its purpose is to motivate employees to pay attention to the video. A leaderboard displays scores so employees are encouraged to do their best, but no one is penalized for a low score.

Can employees rewatch the video?

No. Employees have one opportunity to watch the safety video per training session. Most clients prefer this so employees stay focused rather than rewatching videos throughout the day on their phones.

Can employees retake the quiz?

No. The quiz can only be taken once per video.

Can employees fast forward through the training video?

No. Employees can pause the video but cannot fast forward to the end. This ensures they watch the full training content before taking the quiz.

What if an employee puts their phone down before training is done?

The video pauses wherever they left off. The employee can open the app again at any time during the training window and continue right where they stopped.

Will employees watch the same videos over and over again?

No. Our library is very extensive for each industry. In most cases, it will be at least 3 years before the same video lineup repeats.

What if we need a specific safety topic for our next training?

You can manually change the topic for your next scheduled training — but only after the current training window closes. Once it closes, a button appears on the Safety Schedule Home Page allowing you to select the topic for the next session.

Completion & Deadlines

What if an employee doesn't complete the training?

Employees who miss the 48-hour default window cannot go back and complete it. OSHA understands that employees are sometimes absent for scheduled meetings and does not require employers to keep rescheduling. However, employers are recommended to share the missed topic's information with that employee.

How long do employees have to complete the training?

By default, employees have a 48-hour window to complete the video and quiz. You can contact us to request an extension up to 7 days.

Can we increase the number of days employees have to complete the training?

Yes. We can extend the training window up to 7 days. Contact us to request the change.

Are we notified when employees don't complete the training?

Yes. At the end of each day during the training window, all Admin users automatically receive an attendance report email listing every employee who did and did not complete the training.

Devices & Access

What if an employee doesn't have a phone?

Employees can complete training on any device — smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer. They can also use a coworker's phone. A phone number must be assigned to each employee in the system, but it does not need to be their personal number.

Can employees watch training videos on a desktop computer instead of a phone?

Yes. Employees can complete training on any device with an internet connection — smartphone, tablet, or desktop computer.

Can employees log in with email?

No. Employees log in using their cell phone number only. Only Admin users (assigned by you in account settings) can log in via email and password. Note: Admin users must also be added to the Employee roster if they want to watch the training videos.

Can a supervisor play the video for all employees at once and take group attendance?

No. Each employee must be individually logged in to complete training so their attendance is recorded digitally. Workarounds are available for unique situations — contact us for details.

Platform Features

Can we include our company logo in our Safety Team account?

Yes. In the Settings tab there is a button to upload your logo. After uploading, it will appear in the mobile app menu screen and the admin portal home screen.

Can we track which job site employees were at when they completed training?

Yes. The admin portal has a Jobsites tab where you can add job site names and addresses. Employees select their current jobsite when they open the app, and attendance records will show which site they were at for each training session.

Does the app use GPS tracking?

No. There is no GPS tracking in our app. Jobsite selection is employee-reported, not location-tracked.

Can we load a company-specific hazard assessment checklist?

Yes. Send your checklist to info@oursafetyteam.com and we will load it into the JSA tab for you. Please allow up to 30 days for it to be added.

Can we disable the SMS text reminders sent to employees?

Yes. Send us a request and we can disable the automated SMS reminders that go out to employees during the training window.

Do we need to pay our employees' phone bill?

Employers are not required to pay employees' entire phone bill. Every state has different laws regarding work phone usage — in most states, employers should reimburse a reasonable, proportionate amount. Many clients pay a $3–$5 monthly stipend to cover the 10–15 minutes employees spend on Safety Training. This also applies to calling or texting employees for other work purposes.

Billing & Account

Is there a contract or commitment?

No contracts. No commitments. You can cancel anytime. We bill monthly per employee based on your chosen training frequency.

Does our bill change if our employee count changes?

Yes. The system checks how many employees are in your account at the start of each month and bills accordingly. Adding or removing employees will be reflected in your next monthly bill.

If we delete an employee, is their training history also deleted?

No. All attendance record data is permanent. Deleting an employee from your account does not delete their training history or records.

Are Admin users charged?

No. There is no charge for Admin users. However, if you want Admin users to watch the safety videos, they must also be added to the Employee roster in the Employees tab.

Can Admin users watch the safety videos too?

Yes, but they must first be added to the Employee roster in the Employees tab. Simply being an Admin does not automatically grant access to the employee-facing training videos.

How do we cancel our subscription?

There are two ways to cancel. (1) Log in to your account, go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click Delete Account — this cancels your subscription immediately and deletes all data. (2) Email us at info@oursafetyteam.com and we will cancel it for you.
